As a System Architect: Machine Control & Automation at Philips Innovation Engineering, you will lead the architecture, design, and integration of complex software and electrical components for high-precision medical test and production equipment. You are the technical visionary responsible for bridging the gap between high-level requirements and robust, scalable mechatronic solutions. Operating within a multi-disciplinary team, you will ensure that machine control, accurate measurements, and electrical systems work in perfect harmony to deliver industry-leading performance.

- Architect complete production lines and machines, ensuring manufacturing efficiency, scalability, and adaptability.
- Define a robust Software Architecture Strategy, balancing short-term project needs with long-term technological competitiveness.
- Deliver meticulously crafted software designs using cutting-edge technology, supported by thorough cost-benefit analyses.
- Provide technical input to project leaders and management to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
- Maintain rigorous documentation of the architecture and implementation, taking full ownership of the overall solution quality.
Competenties
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Typically 10+ years of software development experience, with at least 3–4 years as a Software Architect in manufacturing or test equipment.
- Mandatory expertise in Control systems with TwinCAT (2/3) or Beckhoff PLC frameworks for high-performance machine control.
- Proven ability to integrate software with Motion Control, Sensors, Actuators, and Industrial Communication Protocols (e.g., EtherCAT).
- Deep knowledge of Modern Manufacturing Design Approaches and architecture tools.
