As a System Engineer, you will serve as the technical backbone of our multidisciplinary development teams. You are the "bridge" between various engineering departments, ensuring that complex medical systems—specifically focused on Intense Pulse Light (IPL) technologies—are designed, integrated, and verified to the highest standards. You will guide the development process from the initial concept phase through to successful market implementation.

In this role, you aren't just looking at one component; you are looking at the "big picture." You will lead the technical execution, manage complex requirements, and ensure that our products are safe, reliable, and compliant with international medical regulations. If you enjoy bringing order to complexity and leading technical innovation in a highly regulated environment, this is the role for you.

Functie-eisen

To be successful in this position, you must bring a blend of deep technical knowledge and a disciplined approach to systems methodology. We are looking for:

  • Education: An MSc degree in Systems Engineering, (Applied) Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years in a lead engineering role where you managed projects involving multiple technical domains.
  • Industry Knowledge: Proven experience in medical consumer product development. You must be familiar with regulatory design controls such as FDA, ISO 13485, and EUMDR.
  • Technical Tools: Proficiency with requirements management tools (specifically DOORS) and modeling/simulation tools (such as CREO, Ansys, Matlab, or Cameo).
  • Quality Standards: Strong capabilities in data and statistical analysis, ideally backed by a Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) certification.
  • Mobility: Willingness to travel (10-20%) to internal partners and external suppliers, primarily within the Netherlands.

Competenties

  • Multidisciplinary Leadership: The ability to lead and inspire experts from mechanical, electrical, and software backgrounds toward a common goal.
  • Analytical Thinking: A "systems-thinking" mindset—the ability to understand how a change in one small component affects the entire machine.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent stakeholders management skills; you can translate complex technical jargon into clear goals for different departments.
  • Meticulous & Disciplined: High attention to detail, especially regarding traceability and documentation within the V-model development process.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a SAFE Agile environment and contributing to the continuous improvement of our "Model-Based Systems Engineering" (MBSE) ways of working.
