Digital Product Owner – Brand Websites
Over the coming months, we will be working on a new website for a new company and a platform for all new websites.
Role Summary
The Product Owner oversees the strategic direction, delivery, and continuous improvement of a global ecosystem of 213 branded non‑selling websites across 45 countries. Working within the Optimizely platform, the role focuses on product strategy, development delivery, governance, and stakeholder alignment — while coordinating with an external content & configuration team responsible for day‑to‑day site operations.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Roadmap
- Define and evolve the product vision for a large multi‑brand, multi‑market website ecosystem.
- Prioritize the backlog based on business value, technical feasibility, and global stakeholder needs.
- Translate strategic goals into epics, features, and user stories for the development team.
Development Team Collaboration
- Partner closely with the development team to refine requirements, clarify acceptance criteria, and ensure high‑quality delivery.
- Lead sprint ceremonies: planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Make decisions on scope, sequencing, and trade‑offs to maintain delivery momentum.
- Ensure technical solutions align with platform standards, scalability needs, and long‑term product direction.
Coordination With External Content & Configuration Team
- Collaborate with the external team responsible for content publishing, configuration, and operational updates across all markets.
- Provide clear product guidance, documentation, and platform rules to support their work.
- Align release timelines, platform changes, and new features with their operational workflows.
- Ensure the external team has the tools, training, and clarity needed to maintain brand consistency and compliance.
Stakeholder Management
- Maintain good collaboration and communication with internal stakeholders and external vendors that feed into the product
- Gather requirements, manage expectations, and communicate roadmap progress.
- Balance diverse market needs, maturity levels, and priorities across 45 countries.
- Facilitate alignment between stakeholders, development, and the external content/configuration team.
Platform Governance & Quality Assurance
- Maintain governance across all 213 sites, including templates, components, accessibility, and brand compliance.
- Oversee QA processes: regression testing, release validation, and performance monitoring.
- Ensure platform documentation remains accurate, accessible, and up‑to‑date.
- Drive consistency and scalability across markets and brands.
Data‑Driven Decision Making
- Use analytics, user feedback, and performance metrics to inform prioritization.
- Identify opportunities to improve UX, performance, and operational efficiency.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and reduce complexity across markets.
- Champion platform enhancements, new features, and best practices within Optimizely.
- Promote automation, standardization, and scalable solutions.

Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Product Owner or Digital Product Manager in a multi‑market environment.
- Good understanding of Optimizely CMS or similar enterprise content platforms.
- Experience working with development teams in an agile environment.
- Ability to manage complex stakeholder landscapes with clarity and diplomacy.
- Excellent communication, prioritization, and decision‑making skills.
Arbeidsvoorwaarden
Dit bieden wij:
- Salaris: Inschaling in schaal 10, € 5207 - € 6942 obv 40-urige werkweek (afhankelijk van kennis en ervaring).
- Flexibiliteit: Een werkweek van 24 tot 32 uur én de vrijheid om flexibel thuis te werken (geen vaste kantoordagen).
- Impact: Een uitdagende rol waarin je de komende maanden bouwt aan een gloednieuwe website voor een nieuw bedrijf en het overkoepelende platform.
